What We Do
Guiding your build from first plans to final walkthrough
Architon delivers a premier home-building experience with clear planning, steady communication, and craftsmanship that carries each project from permits and selections to the day you walk through the door.
The Quoting Comparison
Paid Pre-Construction Agreement vs. Free Estimate
A clear, side-by-side comparison to help homeowners choose confidence over ambiguity.
PAID PRE-CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT
(Detailed scope, exact cost, 3D design)
PROS
- Real cost certainty
You’re not getting a guess or a range – you’re getting a true build-ready price. - Detailed Scope
Clearly defines materials, systems, finishes, and what is or is not included. - Better design decisions up front
3D design lets you see the home to confirm layout, flow and aesthetics. Design issues are resolved before construction begins. Confidence that decisions are made before they become costly. - Fewer change orders during construction
Because details are settled early the project stays calmer, faster, and more predictable. Less stress, fewer budget conversations during the build. - Strong builder accountability
We are committed to a defined scope and price. You’re not relying on assumptions or verbal promises. - Treated like a serious client
Time, expertise, and effort are invested proportionally not casually.
CONS
- Up-front investment
You’re paying before a shovel hits the ground. That can feel uncomfortable if you’re early in the process (this cost is credited back into the build). - Requires commitment
You can’t casually “kick the tires.” You’re engaging in a real planning phase, not browsing. - More decisions early
Some clients feel overwhelmed making selections sooner rather than later (but we can assist with this to make this part of your journey enjoyable).
FREE ESTIMATE
(Loose scope, allowances, assumptions)
PROS
- No up-front costs
Easy to request, feels low risk at first. - Quick ballpark number
Helpful for early budgeting or curiosity. Can eliminate obviously unrealistic options. - Minimal commitment
You can walk away without feeling invested.
CONS
- Price is rarely the real price
Often excludes site work, finish upgrades, architectural details. Without a defined scope, cost commonly increase. - Vague allowances
Allowances are based off of the cheapest option the builder thinks he can use, instead of being based on the customer’s desire and expectations. We take the time to understand your expectations and price our allowances to match. - Difficult to compare builders fairly
Each builder assumes different things. The cheapest estimate is often missing the most items. - More stress during the build
Decisions happen under pressure. Budget conversations happen at the worst possible time when you’re in the middle of the build and just want to get it done.
